Tiny Airport Devlog: How We Fixed the Check In Queue
A Tiny Airport devlog: how a computer simulation found a hidden queue problem, why upgrades were not helping, and the three small changes that fixed it.
An airport tycoon game for Android. Start with a grass airstrip and one small plane, and grow it into a busy international hub full of passengers, planes and life.
Passengers arrive for the routes you open. They walk through your airport one step at a time, and each step can earn money or slow everything down.
You earn a fee at check in, money from the food court, and ticket money when each plane takes off. If one area is too slow, its floor glows red and the queue grows. Your job is to spot that and fix it.
Tap each airport size to see how your airport changes.
Airstrip: A grass strip, one small plane and a tiny terminal. You land planes by tapping.
Regional Airport: A paved runway, a control tower that lands planes for you, and room for more planes and routes.
International Hub: A second runway, big jets and a busy terminal that never sleeps.
| Airport size | Highest level | Planes | Unlock cost |
|---|---|---|---|
| Airstrip | 10 | 4 | Where you start |
| Regional Airport | 25 | 8 | $2.5K |
| International Hub | 60 | 15 (19 with Runway Land) | $120K |
Every area of your airport changes how it looks as you upgrade it, so you can see your progress, not just read it.
Desks where passengers pay a fee. More desks and faster agents mean shorter queues.
Lanes grow from a bag table to X ray machines and glass body scanners.
Hungry passengers spend extra here, and even more on rainy days.
Seats where passengers wait, then board through the gate.
Fuel, bags and cleaning between flights, so planes leave on time.
Longer runways for bigger planes, lights for night flights, and later a second runway.
Lands planes for you, so your hands are free for bigger choices.
Each airport has its own layout, colors, bank account and upgrades. Airports you are not looking at keep earning at half speed.
Green fields, round trees, a windmill and a red barn. This is where your story starts.
Sand, palm trees, sailboats and a lighthouse. Bigger planes and higher fares. Unlocks once Meadow Field becomes a regional airport.
Snowy pines, wooden chalets and mountains, where planes need de icing in storms. Unlocks once Sandy Bay becomes a regional airport.
Rewarded ads in Tiny Airport are always optional, like double profit for a few minutes. Helpers such as Nadia, the guest relations manager, can speed things up, but every problem in the game can be solved with upgrades and good choices.
We even test the game with a player who never pays and never watches an ad. Read our ad promise and how we fixed a real problem in our check in queue devlog.
